Welcome to the Junior Section

The Junior Captain for 2019 is Morley Gill.

Morley has been a member of Fulford Heath golf club for a number of years and we are proud to have him as our 2019 Junior Captain.  His younger brother Oscar is also a member and they both play for the Junior Team and are ever present at junior and other club  events.  Morley and Oscar have great support form their parents and their granddad, Alan Ackerman, who has been a member for over 50 years!  We look forward to having a year with Morley as our Junior Captain.

Match Reports

A Fulford Heath junior team comprising of Morley Gill, James Cope, George Hughes, Max Timmins, Remo Virgilio and Oscar Gill started their 2019 Junior West Midlands League campaign with a home match against a very strong Droitwich side on Saturday, with Max, Remo and Oscar making their debuts. They played well and gained valuable experience but in the end we lost the tie 2 matches to 1. Droitwich fielded 3 young girls in their team with handicaps of 5, 6 and 8 who’s golf was very impressive to watch. No doubt our team learned a lot from playing with them. James and Oscar had a fine win against one of the girls and her partner, well done both! We play again on July 21st with a home fixture against Redditch.
21 July  Fulford Heath Juniors 2 – Redditch Juniors 1.
A thoroughly enjoyable match between the 2 junior teams culminated in the first win of the season win for Fulford Heath Juniors.  James Cope and Oscar Gill remain unbeaten with a strong 6&5 win.  Santi Francolini and Pierce Cole were beaten 6&5 by a very good Redditch pairing but Morley Gill and Max Timmins secured the tie with a fine 5&4 victory.  With travelling reserves available from Redditch too, Remo Virgilio paired up with one of the Redditch parents to win a well contested reserves match 4&2 as well!  Well done to everyone involved.  Thanks to the Redditch team, Matt Clement – their Junior Organiser and visiting parents.  You are all a credit to your club.  We look forward to the return fixture against Redditch next Saturday.
