Welcome to the Junior Section
The Junior Captain for 2018 is James Cope. James is 16 years old and has been a member at Fulford for 3 years. James is currently the Club’s Junior Champion having won both the best gross and net at the recent Club Championships.
James has just completed his GCSE’s and is about to embark on a Sports Management course at Stourbridge College. His current handicap is 14 but he is working hard to bring it down and can be found at the golf club most days during college holidays. His ultimate aim is to spend time on the tour in America when he has finished college.
When he is not playing golf James enjoys badminton, table tennis and skiing.
The Juniors Vice Captain for the year is Morley Gill.
The Juniors play in the West Midlands Junior League and are always looking for new members of the team. There are 4 teams in the league who play home and away against each other. The winners of the league qualify for an end of season final. If you are interested in taking part then you should speak to Dave Parker (Junior Organiser) on 07834 257455.
The Fulford Heath Junior West Midlands League team brought their campaign to an end with a tough fixture away to Enville on Tuesday. Missing Junior Vice Captain Morley Gill, who was on holiday, we still fielded a strong team of:
James Cope, our Junior Captain, paired with Kaine Taylor
Santi Francolini paired with Pierce Cope
David Buckley-Parton, making his debut for Fulford Juniors paired with George Hughes
Our team lost 3-0 on the day to a good Enville team with home advantage on a tough course avenging their only defeat of the season at home to Fulford in May. This result meant that Enville Juniors won the Zone A league to go on to the knock out finals.
We wish them good luck.
