Fulford Heath Golf Club has a thriving ladies section that is the envy of many clubs in the area.
The ladies of Fulford Heath have an active playing section of 60 plus members and enjoy competitions and opportunities for all.
As full members, ladies enjoy full equality with the added flexibility of the ability to play competitions and social golf that fits around the demands of work and personal life.
Ladies’ competitions are played on Wednesdays and Saturdays with excellent fields on all occasions. Our ladies are not required to give notification as to which day they will play their competition and may play at any time on the day. This allows maximum flexibility for working and non-working ladies alike to play their golf at their leisure. Those that have not organised a playing group only need to turn up for the roll up and there will always be a group of ladies for them to join ready to go out and play.
Alternatively you can arrange a game for your preferred playing time – the ladies operate a private Facebook group so that you can more easily find someone to play with when it suits you.
The ladies have a full programme of competitions with something to suit everyone ranging from matchplay knockout competitions to regular medals and stable fords; from “fun” team and individual competitions to Captain’s Away Day and charity events; from competitions aimed at those on a higher handicap to a variety of Board competitions for trophies kindly donated by past members; as well as 9,12 and 18 hole competitions. There are also opportunities to play in mixed competitions.
Our club has recently introduced a measured and qualified 9 hole course for less experienced members or those short of time to play the full 18 holes.
There are three Open competitions that are well supported by visitors who return to play Fulford year after year because it is a wonderful course suited to a thinking golfer – a three ball alliance in June, an AmAm in July and a Seniors Betterball in September/October.
The Ladies Section also operates a number of teams that play against other clubs in the area at a variety of levels ranging from a Scratch Team to more relaxed friendly matches.
